Bang Bang Review - Never Mind the Story, Feast your Eyes on Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif | Photos | Video

Everything but the kitchen sink has been hurled by critics against "Bang Bang", a Hindi action romantic musical headlined by Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif. It is directed by Siddharth Anand and written by Subash Nair. The movie is a remake of "Knight and Day", which starred Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

Much has been done to propel "Bang Bang" (see photo below) to blockbuster status in terms of marketing. It was released on October 2 (today) in more than 5,000 theaters worldwide, which is said to be the widest release for a Bollywood film.

Like the original, however, its plot is so predictable and formulaic. "Knight and Day" relied on the charms of its main stars Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz - along with its high-action, death-defying stunts. The Bollywood copy never strayed far away from the lackluster Hollywood flick.

Still, Katrina Kaif (see photo below, showing her shapely legs) remains pleasant to the eyes of our male moviegoers. Hrithik goes well with the female crowd also, of course.

The visuals are more than enough since we are really not expecting much from this no-brainer plot of a handsome, mysterious agent who falls in love with a beautiful and innocent civilian amidst massive car chases, open shoot-outs and other fantastic - and seemingly unreal - scenes. The story didn't even bother to develop its characters. But, again, we must keep expectations at a bare minimum.

So, never mind the story and just feast your eyes on Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif! With five (5) stars as the highest rank, we are giving this film a vote of three (3) stars. Here is its official trailer from YouTube:

Besharam Review: Sorry, Ranbir Kapoor!

Directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Himanshu Mehra and Sanjeev Gupta, "Besharam" (see poster below) is a romantic action comedy movie that stars Ranbir Kapoor and Pallavi Sharda. It runs for 142 minutes and earned mixed reviews from critics after its release last October 2.

But never mind the critics. I usually don't trust them. I suspect they judge a film based on vested interests. However I am quite sorry for Ranbir because in this particularly moment I agree with their negative review of "Besharam".

This film revolves around the love story between the charming good-natured orphan turned small-time thief Babli and the educated beauty Tara Sharma, played by RK and Pallavi (see below photo).

The movie’s funny moments, though, would come from Inspector Chulbul Chautala and his wife, head Constable Bulbul Chautala (by Rishi and Neetu Kapoors). They are a really good pair of comic actors!

The climax is a give-away; Babli fighting side-by-side with the officers of the law.

This film does not give justice to its stellar and talented cast. The storyline is plain, formulaic and predictable. The love story and romance between Babli and Tara was not developed.

Babli's mantra in the movie was "No yearning for respect, no fear of humiliation" (Na sammaan ka moh, na apmaan ka bhay).

However, in the end, the movie did not earn my respect but, still, Ranbir Kapoor must not fear humiliation (after all, his movie career would not be hurt by this lackluster film; we all fall down sometimes but what is more important is how we get up).
