Actress, Writer, Anurag Kashyap Ex-Wife Kalki Koechlin | Photos | Monologue Video

Last month, Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced that he is dating his assistant director Sabrina Khan. It now appears that he and his ex-wife Kalki Koechlin (see photo) are headed for divorce. They are now planning to file legal separation after getting married in 2011. The two remain good friends, however.

Who is Kalki Koechlin? She is an actress and screenwriter, who is also an active supporter of feminism and the anti-patriarchy movement. Born on January 10, 1984 in Kalkatty, Tamil Nadu, she is best known for her portrayal of Chandramukhi in the Hindi film Dev. D in 2009, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2009. In the said critically-acclaimed film, she played two characters: the innocent schoolgirl Leni who transformed into the erotic prostitute Chanda.

She is a desi of French descent, which explains her exotic look (see photo, as a cover girl for Women's Health magazine). Both her parents are French migrants who transferred to India some sixty years ago. They are devotees of Sri Aurobindo.

Kalki Koechlin is an active feminist. She was featured in the "It's Your Fault" anti-rape video, with VJ Juhi Pandey, which went viral on the internet in September 2013.
