Although she grew up in America, this beautiful desi is a
trained Kuchupudi and Bharatanatyam dancer. Nina visits India every year. She
also regularly watches Telugu (Tollywood) films. I truly admire her sense of national
pride. They who forget the roots have no right to taste the fruits, or so they
say! Davaluri stands at a height of 5 feet 7 inches, with
gorgeous silky black hair and piercing brown eyes. Here she is wearing a
swimsuit (below, photo) at her first major beauty pageant.
Her father Davuluri Koteshwara Choudhari, a gynecologist, and mother Sheila Ranjani, a software engineer, were originally from Vijayawada, Andra Pradesh. They moved to Missuori in 1981. She was born three years later. She went to University of Michigan and graduated with several honors and awards: Dean's List, Michigan Merit and National Honor society. She is really a beauty with brains!
Before winning her first major competition this year, she
has been crowned Miss Syracuse 2013 and Miss New York 2013.
I hope she would try acting as a Telugu actress in
Bollywood! Congratulations to the girls who joined the said pageant. To all her
racist American haters, grow up! Don't go saying you're from the land of the
free and home of the brave if you still succumb to your cowardly prejudices.
